In Stonewall Penitentiary, you play the role of William Thane, a middle-aged man down on his luck, who just so happens to have a name that really evokes the sense of old school horror. It features all the standard adventure game mechanics like exploration, player inventory, puzzle solving, and character interaction but presents it in a unique format which is more reminiscent of visual novels than your average video game. Stonewall Penitentiary is essentially a gritty 'whodunit' mystery horror adventure game by Unimatrix Productions, and is the fourth game in the Storycentric Worlds series. Looking around, you quickly establish four things: you're in a prison your clothes are missing your hands are tied and you can't remember how you got here. The last thing you remember was lying in bed at home. If you haven't heard of the game, fret not, it has a pretty simple premise.
